Organic wines

Organic wines (wines made from grapes cultivated organically, ‘bio’) are controlled by a certifying organisation (AB, Ecocert ...). Biodynamic culture is a mode of vineyard cultivation which follows rules set down to respect seasonal and lunar cycles. ‘Natural wines’ can be ‘organic’ or ‘bio-dynamic’, their producers limiting to a strict minimum additives during the vinification process (endogenous yeast, sulphites, …).

"With an opaque, blackish appearance not at all unusual for wines from the Lignères family, their 100% Syrah Notre Dame comes from a single chalky, gravelly plot and spend a year in barrique. Distilled fruit, fusil, and pungent notes of cedar, tar, and resin mark the nose. Brine, chili paste, resin, smoked meats, bitter-edged cassis and dried blueberries stain the palate. Chalk and brine underlie the somewhat bitterly-concentrated, black-fruited yet sassy and brightly tart finish." The Wine Advocate. Learn More
