Details
This Blanquette is made from 100% organically-grown Mauzac (a Renaissance grape variety), and subject to a second fermentation in the bottle with over a year’s ageing on the lees. Its balance between complexity and freshness is unmistakably Rives-Blanques. This grower estate Blanquette stands apart from Champagne, Cava, Crémant or Prosecco by being entirely its own thing. First invented by Benedictine monks in Limoux in the early 16th century, it was internationally known by the 19th century, and a favourite of the great wine connoisseur and President of the USA, Thomas Jefferson.
