Château Maris is located in the heart of the Minervois area between Carcassonne and Béziers, in the south of the Languedoc-Roussillon region. The vineyard benefits from excellent natural conditions of production with stony soil and a warm, Mediterranean climate. The garrigue-type heath land 'isolating' the vines and the biodynamic techniques used enable a natural balance between the vineyard and the complex surrounding ecological environment.
Each day, Robert Eden, owner of Château Maris, and his team concentrate their efforts on producing aromatic, elegant wines. Their priority is to ensure the environmental health of the vineyard for future generations by using organic and bio-dynamic methods of cultivation.
An ecological approach has also conditioned the choices made for the domaine's wine making. New cellars have been constructed to enable the use of modern technology in association with traditional enological methods. The brick structure, isolated with hemp and lime, is sustained by a timber frame and most of the materials used are recyclable.
