Château la Voulte-Gasparets, Romain Pauc 2018
Cuvée Romain Pauc is one of the jewels of Languedoc. It is a structured wine, intense and with great finesse. The palate is dense, powerful, and long with lots of fat and beautiful tannins. A safe bet for association with fine cuisine.

For six generations now the families Pauc, Grulet, Bergès and Reverdy have succeeded each other at the head of what has become one the most illustrious names of the Languedoc Roussillon wine industry, the Chateau la Voulte Gasparets. Patrick Reverdy is currently the guarantor of this ancestral tradition of quality which he carries on with his son Laurent. Forever in search of authenticity, Patrick Reverdy, like all the great wine growers, doesn’t have a lot to tell. He’s a craftsman who knows how to listen to nature. To live in harmony with it, respect it and give attention to it, this is the philosophy of this enthusiast who enjoys his isolation in the Corbières hills.

To make a great wine two things are essential. The SOIL, to this land man adds his effort, working the soil when it needs it and as often as necessary. He adds organic manure but only to give what the vine plant needs to nourish its grapes. The GRAPE, the fruit of the vine requires a lot of attention throughout its life. It involves monitoring its growth and the size of its seeds, and pruning off some bunches if necessary so as to give the grapes air and moderate exposure to the sun.

Thanks to the continuing effort put into the work on the vineyard since 1975 and to constant innovation which included the construction of a new wine storehouse in 2004, the wines of the domain are renowned for their rich aromas and their subtleness. They have become a must on the menus of many of the finest restaurants. The vines are on average 60 years old and the yield never exceeds 40 hectolitres per hectare.
