Château la Baronne, Pièce de Roche 2014
Pièce de Roche is full-bodied and simply magnificent, made from Carignan vines planted in 1892. Ripe raspberry and plum on the nose, the palate is soft and dense with a mineral structure, developping scents of mint, black pepper and wet stones on the finish. This wine will be superb with game or a grilled steak. Organic culture.

At the Château La Baronne an enthusiastic team cultivates vines organically in the heart of the superb Alaric mountain terroir at 150m in altitude, south-east of Carcassonne. The Lignères family take particular care to preserve their vineyard's environment and soils, an excellent example of vine culture for this exceptional terroir of the Languedoc-Roussillon. At La Baronne, traditional grape varieties of the Languedoc have always been important… but the Lignères Family has a special affection for Carignan, constantly striving to heighten the expression, finesse and elegance of this emblematic variety of the region. The domaine is proud to cultivate one of the oldest Carignan vines of the Languedoc dating back to 1892. Pièce de Roche undergoes delicate, well integrated ageing for 12 months in Taransaud / Darnajou barrels.
