Details

The history of the Domaine Gayda started in the 21st century as the domaine was purchased in 2003 by Tim Ford and Anthony Record. These two men, respectively English and South African, wine enthusiasts, were enchanted by the landscapes and vineyards of the Languedoc. They created the Domaine Gayda near the village Brugairolles where they have planted traditional, southern French grape varieties since 2003-2004. Simultaneously they bought old vines in the Livinière vineyard north of Carcassonne to produce, since 2003, a wide range of wines under the Domaine Gayda signature. For each vintage grapes are bought from various domaines selected according to the quality of their production and vinified in the cellars of the Domaine Gayda, thereby following the model of new world wineries though rooted in an old world vineyard.
