Buy selected French red wines with a taste of the terroir
Languedoc Wineshop is proud to present its red wines from the Languedoc-Roussillon, specially selected from producers to give you the authentic taste of the terroir. The Languedoc-Roussillon vineyard is to be found in four departments – Aude, Gard, Hérault and Pyrénées-Orientales – which stretch from France’s border with Spain, along the Mediterranean coastline, into Provence. The area produces a wide diversity of French red wines that enjoy IGP, AOC and AOP Languedoc status, with no fewer than 18 Appellations d’Origine Contrôlée in the Languedoc and 13 Appellations d’Origine Contrôlée in the Roussillon. Each terroir is characterised by specific soils, climates and particular grape varieties, and so each produces its own unique style of wine. We buy our red wines direct from the winemakers, and so give you the opportunity to discover and enjoy the finest French red wines at unbeatable prices. Corbières, Faugères, Fitou, Minervois, Pic Saint Loup, Saint Chinian... these are just a few of the red wines from the Languedoc-Roussillon that we’ve chosen for you.
A wine which is fruity and soft with ripe, rounded tannins, the nose developing notes of pepper. A smooth attack on the palate with excellent length for an easy wine to drink in its youth. Taste with an onion tart, grills and cold meats. Learn More
A beautifully deep robe with garnet highlights, an elegant nose of small candied black fruit and garrigue scrub, with a round and spicy mouth. The finish is long but digestible, almost sanguine. Learn More
From the fabulous La Clape vineyards on a plateau surrounded by scrubland overlooking the Mediterranean sea, this wine is 'made to measure' from low yielding vines. Blended from a majority of Mourvèdre, this is a juicy, deep, rich, complex Mediterranean wine developing scents of wild plants, dried herbs with superb oak ageing. Decanter and taste with a rare rib of beef or rich stew. The expert point of view : “Red fruits, garrigue scrub, very fresh, sappy, grey pepper, persistent, elegant.” Learn More
Learn More
A red wine with a light robe. Expressive nose of cherry, spice and mocha. The mouth has a pleasant attack, the wine is full with fruity and burnt notes. The freshness in the finish is very elegant and demonstrates the complicity between Pinot Noir and terroir of the Upper Valley of the Aude.
