The vines of the Borie de Maurel cling to the stony slopes of the Montagne noire, north-east of Carcassonne. The particular characteristics of this terroir enabled recognition as the AOC La Livinière in 1999, the first specific village Appellation of the Languedoc region. MIchel Escande decided to settle here in 1989. Since then, 'the wizard of Félines', as he has been named, is highly considered by specialised press all over the world and his Cuvée Sylla is now served at the best tables. Since then Michel and his sons cultivate their exceptional terroir with enthusiasm and technical mastery.
