Product Description
Halfway between the Cathar Citadels and the Mediterranean sea, nestling in the hills of the Hautes Corbières, the vineyards of the Castelmaure cooperative are in the heart of the Durban terroir. 8 km to the south of Durban-Corbières, the cellar is located in the centre of the small village of Embres et Castelmaure.
The terroir is mainly composed of chalk and slate soils. The vineyard's altitude and the effect of regular, strong winds have a freshening influence on grapes, resulting in elegant, complex wines.
The Cuvée N° 3 is a symbol of the renaissance of the Languedoc as a region producing quality wines with no complex about the general inertia of the past. Languedoc producers no longer hesitate to innovate, trying new techniques, searching for style and elegance in order to make their dreams become reality.
Created in the mid 1990's, the Cuvée n° 3 represents the capacity of the Castelmaure cooperative to unite energy and projects ; "This isn't a cooperative," recently said a Castelmaure member, "this is a club for meeting people !" You can clearly sense that in the Cuvée n° 3... It is the result of the strength of the attachment the producers have for their village and its terroir...
Matured in oak barrels for 12 months.
